1. What Areas of Louisiana Do We Provide Care?
At Home Care of Louisiana provides home care and senior sitting services to the greater Baton Rouge area. In addition to the Capital City, we extend our services to Gonzales, Denham Springs, Zachary, Prairieville, etc. Please ask about our extended area coverage to see if you fit into coverage.
2. How Do We Choose Our Caregivers?
With At Home Care of Louisiana, selecting caregivers is a meticulous and thoughtful process. We prioritize our clients' well-being and satisfaction; therefore, our caregiver selection involves a thorough screening and evaluation process. We consider factors such as professional qualifications, experience in caregiving, and a genuine commitment to providing compassionate and personalized care to clients. Our team is dedicated to matching each client with a caregiver whose skills and personality align with their unique needs and preferences. This personalized approach ensures our clients receive the necessary assistance and build meaningful connections with their caregivers.
3. Do We Provide 24-Hour Care?
At Home Care of Louisiana offers 24-hour home care services for around-the-clock assistance and support provided within the comfort of their own homes. Our 24-hour services ensure a caregiver is always available to address the client's needs. This comprehensive care can include assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, companionship, monitoring health conditions, and other personalized services tailored to the individual's requirements. The continuous presence of a caregiver provides a sense of security. It allows individuals, especially those with health or mobility challenges, to maintain their independence while receiving the necessary care and support throughout the day and night.
4. What Are Our Costs? Forms of Payment?
The cost for home care is charged at an hourly rate and varies depending on the client’s level of care needs. Services are invoiced on a weekly basis and billed using ACH payments processed through a checking or savings account. We accept all major credit cards. We are an approved care provider for all Long Term Care Insurance companies and Veterans' Benefits.
5. Are There Monthly or Long-Term Contracts?
A Service Agreement is established with the client and At Home Care of Louisiana to receive non-medical home care services. We understand that the client’s schedules and needs may change over time; therefore, we simply require 72-hour advance notice for any cancellations in service or changes in schedule.
6. What Is Your Onboarding Process for a New Client?
The onboarding process for home care involves a comprehensive process during which we gather relevant information, assess specific needs, and establish a personalized care plan to ensure a seamless and tailored home care experience.
Initial Assessment: A representative from At Home Care of Louisiana will conduct an assessment with the client in their home. This involves understanding the client’s medical history, current health status, and specific care needs and co-authoring a care plan with the Family.
Service Agreement: Necessary paperwork, including our Service Agreement, is completed to ensure both the client and agency are aware of expectations, schedules, and terms of service.
Customized Care Plan: A personalized care plan is developed based on the assessment. This plan outlines the type and level of care required, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and medication reminders. Our Comprehensive Care Plan is co-authored with the family to ensure we fully understand your goals and expectations of care.
Caregiver Matching: A suitable caregiver is selected based on the client’s preferences, needs, and caregivers’ expertise. Compatibility is crucial for a positive client-caregiver relationship.
7. How Often Will My Caregiver Visit?
The frequency of caregiver visits for home care depends on the specific needs and requirements of the individual receiving care. It can range from a few hours per shift up to 24-hour, around-the-clock care, depending on the level of assistance needed. Care plans are personalized, and the frequency may be adjusted based on changes in status or circumstances.

8. What Happens If My Regular Caregiver Cannot Make It?
Suppose the initially assigned caregiver cannot fulfill their shift. In that case, an appropriate substitute will be arranged to care for the client, or a client care coordinator will offer assistance during the absence of the regular caregiver.

9. How Soon Can You Start?
We understand the urgency of receiving home care and recognize the significance of providing timely assistance for you and your family. We will initiate care for the client promptly after conducting an initial assessment with a focus on what is most beneficial for you and your family.
